Magazine Design

1. How does the design that you created demonstrate your knowledge of Magazine Design and the parts of a magazine cover and interior? The design that I created demonstrates my knowledge of Magazine Design by creating an interior that flows well and is visually appealing. I demonstrated y knowledge of the parts of a magazine by including all the parts that PEOPLE normally included (ex. Photo captions, subheads, byline) 2. In what ways does your magazine connect to the corporate identity of the magazine? What are some design queues that you used from the existing magazine? My magazine connects to the corporate identity because I used previous articles from PEOPLE magazine as my reference I tilted and cut out the images in my article because that is what they often do in PEOPLE. Also, on the cover, we used stories that PEOPLE would actually include in one of their magazines. 3. How did completing the brainstorming packet and sketches affect your design process? Completing the brainstorming packet and sketches were very helpful in my design process. Both helped me organize my ideas and work faster towards the end goal of finishing the magazine design. 4. How did you like working with a partner? How do you think working with a partner makes the design process easier and more difficult? I enjoyed working we a partner because we got to check each other's work. Working with a partner can make it easier if you are crunched for time, but individual work is more efficient because you don't really have to check with anyone. 5. Looking at your partner’s design, if you were to design your partner’s portion by yourself how would it look different? What would you have changed? I would fix the background and maybe the fonts. Overall I think Lindsay did a great job!! 6. Describe the ideal partner (co-worker / co –designer)? The ideal partner is one that listens to what you say but can also voice an original option. Also the ideal partner would work quickly and effectively and be very knowlageable about illustrator so that they can help me when I get into a pickle .
