What is a letterform design?

A letterform design is a design using only letters or symbols. A letterform design specifically focuses on the letters shape.

What was your job as the designer?

My job as the designer was to create 9 unique letterform designs using my knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Letterform design and the elements of design

What were some of the challenges you faced during this project?

Some of the challenges I faced during this project would be trying to come up with an interesting way of using the letters and meeting the requirements. At first I was thinking to much and putting too much detail that in the end, wouldn’t have been seen.

Do you feel you successfully completed the project? Why or why not?

I feel that I successfully completed the project because I not only met the requirements for each artboard, but I tried to make each of them interesting. I also tried to connect all the artboards b using the same colors, fonts and letters.

If you can change something about the project what would it be and why?

One thing I would change about the project would be the option to use colors. I feel like the colors distracted me from gaining knowledge about letterform design. I feel that the classic black and white would force me to have a stronger letterform design and focus more on the purpose of this assignment.
